So happy days for me! I got news today that I’ve been waiting on for almost a month now…I got a new JOB!

I got a job with Asus as Channel Manager in Cape Town! I will be the face of Asus in this region, trying to intergrate it into the market a little more, seeing what and dealing with problems people (read: shops) have, sending promotional material to stores, etc.

I start in January with a week’s training in JHB which is going to be a huge step for me to do alone. No one else that I know will be with me, and I’ll be meeting everyone for the first time. Not sure where I’m staying, they said if I dont have anyone to stay with in JHB they’ll make a plan, but I dont know if that means a B&B or one of their work people….however, would I be comfortable going to a stranger’s house to stay haha probably not, so I’m probably being silly and they’ll organise a B&B. But then I’ll be all alone at night le sigh.

But, 2010 comes with a bigger salary, more responsibility, and a new routine. I think I’m ready for it! Hell, I’ll give it all I have! Yay for me!! However, it is bittersweet ‘cos I love working for my dad and the hours are flexable and the days are easy…and he needs me. So I made this decision with a heavy heart, but he’s been nothing but extra supportive, and I love him so much for that. And of course I’ll try help where I can!

In other, though somewhat old news, I mentioned before that my car was dented and I was fighting with this guy to pay for it (since he reversed into me)…well, he’s FINALLY claiming on his insurance, a year down the line (after ignoring all my lawyer’s letters and summons, etc)!! But, not a moment too soon ‘cos next year in March I’ll be in the market for a new car and needing to sell mine. I’ll be very sad to see ol’ Bluebetty go, cos she’s been good to me, but I’ll be looking at a new (read: slightly secondhand) Getz or Yaris or something.

Now I just need to see if I’ve been accepted into Unisa for my studies! What a year 2010 will be!
