About Feathered Tails & Friends

Hi there, and welcome to Feathered Tails & Friends! I’m the proud bird mom of two wonderful cockatiels—Finnigan and Molly—both of whom found their way into my life through rescue.

Our Story

I’ve never been able to walk away from an animal in need, and these two were no exception.

Finn was rescued from an abusive situation with a homeless person, where all his tail feathers had been pulled out, and Molly came from a pet store where she was kept in poor conditions and couldn’t even fly.

Today, they live happily in a spacious, toy-filled cage, getting all the love, attention, and good food they deserve. They’ve taught me so much about patience, resilience, and the joy of earning a bird’s trust—and now, I’m excited to share what I’ve learned with you.

Our Mission

When I first became a bird parent, I didn’t do nearly enough research beforehand. If I had, I might’ve realized just how much care, time, and commitment these amazing creatures need—and how long they live! That experience inspired me to create this site: a one-stop resource where bird lovers (and the bird-curious) can find everything they need to make informed decisions and offer the best care possible.

Here at Feathered Tails & Friends, my mission is to share friendly, encouraging, and accurate information about small bird care—from training tips and nutrition advice to enrichment ideas and safety guides. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to deepen your bond with your feathered companion, there’s something here for you.
